Awesome Agate girls' swimmers and divers prepare for sections

The Agate girls swimming and diving team is undefeated going into the sections meet in Hibbing Nov. 7 and 10. The girls’ outstanding record is even more impressive because they have maintained their undefeated status for two years. They’re spending the next few days preparing to make all their training pay off.

“The girls have been working so hard for this all season. They train hard all year and then the couple of weeks prior to the main competition we start to taper and get some good rest in,” said coach Heather Mayfield in an email to the News-Chronicle.

Preliminaries start on Thursday with the top 16 in each event qualifying for section finals on Saturday.

“They have worked hard and are ready to show some Agate Pride in the pool at Hibbing on Thursday and Saturday this week,” Mayfield said.
