Army Reserve Pvt. Jeffrey D. Giacomini has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skill, battlefield operations and tactics and use of various weapons and weapons defenses.
Giacomini is the grandson of Carol Giacomini of Fifth Avenue, Two Harbors, and nephew of Frank Giacomini of North 34th Avenue West, Duluth.
He is a 2006 graduate of Two Harbors High School.
Dan Sonday enters his first season as the Swarm's athletic trainer in 2013. The Northern Minnesota native moved to the Twin Cities after graduating from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, where he obtained his Masters of Science in athletic training. While working on his Masters, Sonday worked with a variety of athletes ranging from high school and collegiate to professional to Olympic level athletes. Sonday is currently working at the Orthoquick in Eagan. In his free time, Sonday enjoys trail running, fishing, hunting, and spending time with friends and family.
Sonday is a 2006 graduate of Two Harbors High School.
