Lake County News-Chronicle and Two Harbors Chamber to host candidate forum

By: Tammy Francois, Lake County News Chronicle

Since I’ve been at the News-Chronicle, I’ve had a chance to meet most of the folks running for mayor or City Council and I like them all. I’m impressed with their interest and willingness to serve the community.

They want to work to keep Two Harbors moving forward, but without sacrificing the things that make this a great place to live, raise a family, work, and retire.

Of course the candidates may have differing opinions about how this should be accomplished, but dialogue and debate are healthy and necessary. It’s up to the voters to decide whose vision and strategy are reasonable and workable.

So, on Oct. 18, the Lake County News-Chronicle and the Two Harbors Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a candidate forum at the Two Harbors Community Center. We’ve invited the mayoral and city council candidates to participate.

The forum will be informal and friendly. Each candidate will be asked to respond to questions about the issues facing the community of Two Harbors. This will be a great opportunity for residents to meet the candidates, hear what they have to say and decide how to vote on Nov. 6.

Think you already know how you’ll vote? I still hope you’ll attend. I’d like to meet you, if I haven’t already—and even if I have.

The event will be moderated by Neill Atkins, Robin Washington and me, and it will start at 7 p.m.

Come on down.
