The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has promoted four conservation officers to lieutenant and district supervisor, including one in Two Harbors.

Dan Thomasen is the new Two Harbors area enforcement supervisor. The area includes Cook, Lake, and St. Louis counties.

"Each of these officers possesses courage, leadership, and ability," said Col. Jim Konrad, DNR Enforcement director. "I am confident that they will continue the proud tradition of the department. My sincere congratulations go out to them for these well-deserved promotions."

Dan Thomasen was a Minnesota State Trooper for 16 years stationed in Minneapolis, International Falls and Two Harbors. He has been stationed in Two Harbors since joining the DNR in 2007.

Tremayne Abazs, an Earlham College first-year and son of Lise and David Abazs of Finland has enrolled at Earlham College. Earlham is a selective, liberal arts college in Richmond, Indiana.
