Candace “Candy” Jean Mishler passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012 at her home in Sandstone at the age of 38 years.
Candace “Candy” Jean Mishler passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012 at her home in Sandstone at the age of 38 years. She was born on April 30, 1974 in Two Harbors to Wayne Clifford and Elaine Della (Hills) Mishler. Candy lived at home with her parents until 2005 when she moved to the CIP group home in Sandstone where she has since resided. She participated in many activities in the Duluth area: DAC (Day Activity Center), Lincoln Elementary Special Education and Duluth East High School Special Education. She enjoyed swimming, horseback riding, camping, walks, music and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Della Mishler; her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Lydia Mishler; her maternal grandparents, Norman and Margel Hills and her maternal uncles, Michael Hills and Harold Hills.
She is survived by her father, Wayne Mishler; two sisters, Kathleen Kurkiewicz (Walter) and her children Joshua, Christopher and Rebecca and Barbara Mishler Ankarlo (Robert) and her children Wayne and Benedict; her uncle, Donald (Marlene) Mishler; many cousins and other aunts and uncles.
Funeral services for Candy Mishler were held Monday, Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. at Methven Funeral Home in Sandstone with Pastor Tim Schmidt officiating. Organist was Katie Cundiff. Casketbearers were Joshua Kurkiewicz, Robert Ankarlo, Christopher Kurkiewicz, Tom Matson, Walter Kurkiewicz and Claren Reitsma. Honorary Casketbearers were Benedict Ankarlo, Wayne Ankarlo, Rebecca Kurkiewicz and Ann Wedde. Interment at Bohemian Cemetery in Haugen, Wis. www.methvenfuneralhome.com
