Kids open gym night has started again this fall at the Clair Nelson Center. It is held on Thursday evenings from 6-9 p.m.
To any readers that live down and around the Twin Cities, there will be a book signing and wine tasting for the book “Company Town”. The book was written from oral histories about life in Silver Bay from the 1950s-80s. It will be held at Lake Elmo Wine Company in Lake Elmo, MN on Monday, Sept. 24, from 6-7:30 p.m. Book proceeds go to William Kelley High School in Silver Bay.
Deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Ann Ahlbeck. Ann died on Friday, Aug. 24th.
Locals who attended the Senior Citizens Luncheon at Lake County Fair were Ruth Himes, Judy Martell, Bob and Linda Nikolai. Ruth held the honor of Outstanding Senior Citizen in 1997 and Bob held the honor in 2011. Congratulations to Gladys Lorntson and Lyle Northey who were this year’s Outstanding Seniors.
Alec Donald M. Breden was born on Tuesday, Aug. 28th at 6:31p.m., weighing in at 9 pounds, 4 ounces, and 20 inches long. Proud parents are Kevin and Stacy Breden and proud brother is Harper. Grandparents are Don and Grace Rabold of Finland, Diana Uppgard of Silver Bay, Jamie and Kim Breden of Red Wing. Great Grandparents are Betty Lou Rabold, formerly of Finland (now Silver Bay) and Marlin and Carol Bakken of Silver Bay. Kevin and Stacy reported they are home and doing well, and would like to thank all who sent cards and well wishes.
