Two Harbors Youth Hockey registration will take place Sept. 12-13 from 6-8 p.m. at the Lake County Arena. To give more players the opportunity to play, THYH offers half-price or free registration to first-year players. For younger first-year players (Squirts, Mites and Girls U-12), the fee will be waived. For the older kids, Peewee and Bantam, first-year players will pay half price.
THYH secured a grant this year from Gear Up Minnesota, a program of Minnesota Hockey, to help provide first-time players with new equipment. Up to 15 new players this year will get a new set of Reebok equipment for free when they sign up.
Hockey families can also bring their used equipment to the registration for a gear exchange.
In addition, a girls’ team has been added this year. While the younger teams are typically mixed gender, the U-12 girls’ team will give local girls the chance to continue beyond the Squirts level. The U-12 team is for girls 13 and under.
