Doris Larkin and her husband, Bob, moved to Two Harbors in 1995 and worked for a number of years before retiring. Although she has always volunteered, she has gotten into it after retiring in a big way as a way to “give back”. She is very active with Socially Active Seniors, working at their events, as well as chairing the advisory board. She volunteers with Community Partners in a number of different capacities. She is co-leader of the caregiver support group, delivers meals on wheels, and is a senior companion. Doris is also active with the North Shore Rotary Club.

“Volunteering provides many opportunities. It is a way to meet people, to give back to and to be involved in your community. It is a way to use the God-given talents that everyone has…no matter what you do, there is a volunteer position that can use your skills,” Larkin said.
