Beautify Two Harbors with a tribute tree

In October, the City of Two Harbors will celebrate Arbor Day by planting trees in public places. Once again the City welcomes community members to participate by donating a tribute tree. The tribute tree program provides an opportunity to people and organizations to donate a tree to the City of Two Harbors in honor of a loved one or special occasion and contribute to the beautification of the city’s parks and boulevards.
Tribute trees are perfect for honoring a veteran, celebrating a special occasion like an anniversary or birthday, remembrance of a loved one or starting a legacy.
Tribute tree donors will be presented with a certificate signed by the mayor listing the type of tree, planting location and reason for the donation. City crews plant the trees and care for each tree for the duration of its life. Each tree will be guaranteed for one year by the supplier and the city will commit to replace each one once if it dies due to damage or disease.
If you are interested in donating a tribute tree, complete and return an order form with payment. Order forms for the 2012 program can be downloaded anytime from the city’s website at www.ci.two-habors.mn.us or picked up at City Hall.
Two Harbors is blessed with beautiful public spaces. The Trees and Trails Commission is working to ensure that future generations can enjoy those spaces as we do. The tribute tree program is one way we can work together to do that.
