Congratulations go out to Gary and Kari Hedin on the birth of their new baby boy, Jonas Jay Hedin. Jonas was born on Sunday, July 29 weighing 5 pounds 11 ounces. Proud sister is Linnea. Proud grandparents are Gary and Ellen Hedin.

John and Bette Pounds of Boerne, Tex. arrived on Saturday to spend some time here visiting with Ric and Diane Lindberg, mother Lila Hangartner in Carefree Living and other relatives and friends. Diane and Bette’s sister Jean Cook of Holland, Mich. arrived on Monday to also spend some time here and enjoy the Finnish Tori.

The Tori will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Heritage Site. There will be plenty of good food, music and crafters on hand. Come out and enjoy a beautiful day.

Deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Twyla Nowotczynski. Twyla died on Monday, Aug. 6 in St. Luke’s Hospital at the age of 70. Twyla had been a resident at Carefree Living in Silver Bay.
