Leonard Lee Thorstenson, age 68, of Two Harbors, died with dignity, July 17th, 2012 at home after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Leonard Lee Thorstenson, age 68, of Two Harbors, died with dignity, July 17th, 2012 at home after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born January 11, 1944 in Rush City, Minn. and graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1963.

Leonard worked at Reserve Mining, Serco Loaders, and was owner of L.L. Thorstenson Commercial Diving Co. He was a rescue squad diver, underwater welder and on the Lift team at St. Lukes, a member of the American Legion and the Honor Guard.

Lenny died surrounded by his family. Lenny always had time to stop and talk and he was best known for his sense of humor.

He is preceded in death by his dad Dayton B. Thorstenson "Tork", mom, Ellenor Thorstenson and sister Katherine Johnson.

Leonard is survived by his siblings John (Karen) Thorstenson, Karla (Moe) Baker, Annie Thorstenson (Harold Stevens), kids; Joanne (Daniel) Hubbartt, Raquel (Rick) Tahtinen and Tory Thorstenson, grandkids; Blair Hubbartt, Cecelia Hubbartt, Tyler Birkland, Joanna Tahtinen and Nash Tahtinen, many neices and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 28th at 3:00 p.m. in the Two Harbors American Legion.
