Air National Guard Airman Mason S. DeRosier graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. DeRosier is the son of Richard and Lisa DeRosier of Ives Road, Silver Bay. He is a 2011 graduate of William Kelly High School, Silver Bay.
Casey Rafn of Two Harbors graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa in Iowa City with a bachelor of music degree.
Meredith MacDonald of Two Harbors graduated cum laude from Luther College with a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education.
Sonja Smerud of Silver Bay was named to the dean’s list at St. Olaf College in Northfield. She is a political science and biology major. Students named to the dean’s list must have a grade point average of 3.75 or higher.
Four students from the Lake County area graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior this spring. Ashlee Beck, Peter Lovold and Grace Overend, all of Two Harbors, received bachelor of science degrees. Chris David Frericks, of Silver Bay received a master of science degree.
