People: Two Harbors native makes dean's list

Kara Nonnemacher of Two Harbors, a sophomore at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, has earned a spot on the academic Dean’s List this spring.

Kara Nonnemacher of Two Harbors, a sophomore at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, has earned a spot on the academic Dean’s List this spring.

The list is comprised of students who have achieved a semester grade point average of 3.50 or above while carrying a minimum of 12 graded hours.

Nonnemacher is a public relations major at Northwestern. She is the daughter of David and Jody Nonnemacher of Two Harbors.

  • The Eighth District chapter of the Minnesota State Horticultural Society announced five scholarship awards this spring at its annual meeting in Duluth. Receiving $250 awards were Anna Schield of Two Harbors and Shane Loeffler of Finland.

  • Marin Ekstrom, daughter of Mitchell and Lori Ekstrom of Two Harbors, has been named to the dean’s list of Macalester College in St. Paul for academic achievement during the last spring semester.

    A graduate of Two Harbors High School, Ekstrom was a first-year student at Macalester last spring.

    The Dean’s List at Macalester requires a semester grade point average of at least 3.75, 12 or more credits on a regular grading option, no grades below C-, and no withdrawal or incomplete grades.
