Two Harbors mayor has campaign company

Two Harbors City Council member Mary Rosati will try to unseat Mayor Randy Bolen in the city election this fall. Rosati filed for her current council seat but changed her mind as the filing period ended Tuesday. Her husband, Richard, will run for her at-large council seat.
Roger Simonson is running for election in Ward 2. He was named the interim council member when Chris Swanson stepped down earlier this year.
In wards 3 and 4, council members Dan Jones and Steve Detlefsen did not file for re-election. Cathy Erickson and Linda Newsome Melcher will seek Jones’ spot and George Scheidt filed for Ward 4.
There was a dearth of filings for other municipal posts in Lake County. No one filed for mayor or city council in Beaver Bay and Silver Bay despite openings.
On the county board, with Tom Clifford not seeking re-election, Lee Davis and Peter Walsh will battle for that seat. Incumbents Rich Sve, Rick Goutermont and Brad Jones all were the only people to file for their posts.
