Silver Bay's Blood wins 800 meters at Sub-sections

The Mariners' Kyle Blood won the 800-meter run at the Section 7A South Sub-section meet last Wednesday with a time of 2 minutes, 0.32 seconds. He is seeded first in the state-qualifying race at Sections on Friday.

Silver Bay’s Kyle Blood won the 800-meter run at the Section 7A South Sub-section meet last Wednesday with a time of 2 minutes, 0.32 seconds. He is seeded first in the state-qualifying race at Sections on Friday.

Baruch Fischer won the shot put with a throw of 46 feet.

Overall, The Mariner boys were sixth with 45 points and the girls were 13th with 6 points.

Point scorers for the Mariners boys were Shane Billings in the discus and triple jump, Baruch Fischer in the discus, Holden Panetti in the long jump and 100-meter dash, Taylor Woodwick in the high jump and Josh Malone in the 300 hurdles. Also getting points were the 4-by-400 relay team of Luke Thun, Kyle Blood, Tzaddick Oltman and Eben Fischer, the 4-by-200 relay team of Holden Panetti, Tzaddick, Michael Fischer and Kyle Blood and the 4-by-100 relay team of Josh Malone, Tzaddick Oltman, Eben Fischer and Michael Fischer.

Abby Michels took third in the 400 and seventh in the 100 for the girls. She will move onto Sections in both events.
