Food pours in during annual drive
The 20th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive this month pulled in 124,854 pounds of food in the Duluth region as residents left items with postal carriers.
The 20th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive this month pulled in 124,854 pounds of food in the Duluth region as residents left items with postal carriers.
The Two Harbors post office collected 4,525 pounds and Silver Bay collected 1,500. The food goes to food shelves in the area it was collected.
Area residents were asked to leave nonperishable items next to their mail boxes for pickup by area postal carriers and volunteers. The food collected went to area food shelves who supply food to those in need.
