Carlson to be installed as pastor at Sychar Lutheran

Pastor Stew Carlson will be installed as the 10th pastor in the history of Sychar Lutheran Church in Silver Bay on Sunday, May 20, at 10 a.m.

Carlson has been serving at Sychar since January. He is a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., along with Luther Seminary in St. Paul. Carlson comes to Sychar after having previously served at Our Savior’s Lutheran in Lamberton, Minn.

Participating in the installation service will be guest preacher the Rev. Dr. Roy Harrisville Jr., professor emeritus of New Testament at Luther Seminary, and Sychar Congregational President Dan Waxlax.

The Sychar Lutheran Church Women will be putting on a meal afterwards for church members and visitors.
