Thor Turgerson, 81,formerly of Two Harbors passed away on Saturday April 28, 2012 at Chris Jensen Rehabilitation Center.

Thor was born in Chicago and moved to Norway with his family when he was two years old. He lived through the war during the Nazi invasion of Norway and was not able to return to the United States until he was a young man in 1951.

He met his wife Carolyn Lemke in 1953 and they married in 1955 in Echo, Minn.

Thor was a resident of Marble Lake for 37 years from the Twin Cities and enjoyed the woods, the lake, and many outdoor activities with his family and friends.

Thor is survived by his wife of 57 years Carolyn, son Todd (Mary) Turgerson, daughter Lynne Turgerson, grandchildren Paul (Audrey) Kuusisto, Crystal Kuusisto, Hannah (Anthony) Donofrio, Chris Turgerson (Jenna), and Michael Turgerson; great-children Carissa Kuusisto, Madison Kuusisto, and Trevor Donofrio; His family in Norway Lilimore Arne, many cousins and extended family members.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday May 10th, 2012 at Forbes United Methodist Church, 33 Grove St., Proctor at 3 p.m.
