Author talk, with a twist
Author Jack Salmela, accompanied by a voyageur reenactor, will give a presentation at the Silver Bay Public Library at 3:30 p.m. April 27.
Jack Salmela will lead the audience on an enlightening tour of early Minnesota history based on research he compiled writing the book, “Of Vikings and Voyageurs.” Using original maps, authentic voyageur artifacts (including a musket to be fired outside if the venue and weather permit), and accompanied by a voyageur reenactor, this presentation is sure to intrigue.
Lake Superior Magazine describes “Of Vikings and Voyageurs” as, “Stir ‘The Da Vinci Code’ and ‘National Treasure’ into the Northwoods and the resulting mixture would be the plot of this latest book by Jack Salmela.”
This informative and interactive program is geared towards older children and adult audiences. Admission to the event is free thanks to sponsorship by the Arrowhead Library System and funding by money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
