Ellen Jean Anderson

Ellen Jean Anderson, age 80 of Two Harbors, was born Sept. 9, 1931 in Bemidji and passed away April 5, 2012, from injuries related to an auto accident.

Ellen was a member of The United Church of Two Harbors, the Sons of Norway, and the local art club.

Ellen enjoyed outdoor activities, golfing, and was a skilled painter of her husband Jim’s wood carvings. She helped build their dream house on Lake Superior. She kept her mind agile with the daily Jumble and Crytoquip. She passionately enjoyed Twins baseball, Vikings football, and reading the latest Sports Illustrated.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Margaret Odegard and son-in-law Robert (Moe) Peterson of Oakdale, Wis.

Ellen is survived by husband of nearly 59 years, James I. Anderson; son Alan Anderson of Two Harbors; daughter Bonnie of Oakdale, Wis.; grandchildren Stein (Sierra) Anderson of Polson, Mont., Beth Peterson of Oakdale Wis., Alicia Anderson (Sam) of Frenchtown Mont., Krag Anderson (Gina) of Frenchtown, Mont.; great-grandchildren Savannah Anderson and Ryland Anderson of Polson Mont.; and special friend Lee Campbell of Duluth.

A memorial will be held at a later date.
