Adoptable pet: Lena the cat

Lena is available for adoption from the Lake County Humane Society.

Lena is available for adoption from the Lake County Humane Society. She is an unusual looking cat with short legs and a long back. Lena is an ash-colored torti with feather-soft fur and a longer mane of hair around her head.

Lena was surrendered to the Lake County Humane Society a few months ago. It took her a while to adjust to life at the shelter. She is nervous around the other cats. In her previous home, she lived with dogs. She has warmed up to those who care for her at the shelter. Lena usually comes when you call her name and pat your leg. She enjoys attention and grooming.

Lena has been spayed and vaccinated, and is ready for a new home. She would do best in a home without other cats.

To see Lena or any of the other pets, stop by an open house at the shelter, which is located behind the ambulance garage at 415 20th Avenue in Two Harbors.

Open house hours are 9 to 11a.m. Monday through Friday, 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, and 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays. You may also call 218-834-5806 to schedule an appointment.
