Deepest sympathy goes out to Jeff and Tammy Nikula and family and Dick Krech Jr. and family in the loss of their sister, Jodi Lynn Cable. Jodi died at the age of 44 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A memorial service was held at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home in Roseville March 9.
Deepest sympathy also goes out to the family and friends of Sid Hart. Sid died March 5 in Faribault, Minn. at the age of 79. A memorial service was held March 9 at the Palisade Baptist Church.
A few members of the Finland Fire and Rescue volunteered their service to help with the Melissa McGregor-Voltz Benefit held last Saturday at the Two Harbors Moose Lodge. They reported there was a very good turnout for the benefit.
The Green and Purple Party National Convention have arrived. The Miss Helmi Talent and Beauty Pageant will be held on Friday evening with stops around town, ending at the Clair Nelson Center for the crowning of Miss Helmi.
Saturday morning the Finland Historical Society will hold a Pancake Breakfast at Zion from 8 to 11 a.m. At noon there will be a Tug of War across the Baptism River just before the parade. There will be music at the local businesses in the afternoon and evening, and a craft fair held at the Clair Nelson Rec Center.
On Sunday the Election Results will be announced, along with the Raffle Ticket Drawing and door prizes at Wildhurst Lodge and Campgrounds.
