Hermantown, the top seeded team in A, took second and Duluth East, the top seeded team in AA, won consolation.
The girls’ state basketball tournament opened play this week and will conclude tomorrow. Hopkins is seeded No. 1 in AAAA and Richfield is No. 1 in AAA. In AA and A there are no seedings. Hopkins is favored in AAAA, Richfield and Fergus Falls in AAA, Providence Academy and Braham in AA, and Maranatha Christiuan in A. New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva in AA is the only remaining unbeaten team.
