Janette A. Barnes, 79, of Finland died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at Ecumen Scenic Shores in Two Harbors.

She was born Feb. 5, 1933, to Leon and Blanche (Meserve) Lombard in Westbrook, Maine as the youngest grandchild of a Civil War veteran. She grew up and graduated from high school in Westbrook and then worked for S.D. Warren Paper Company for 16 years. She married Robert Barnes on July 2, 1966, in Westbrook, Maine. In 1967, they moved to Silver Bay and in 1971 they moved to Finland. Janette was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters Phyllis and Irene.

Janette is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert; daughter Lisa of St. Louis Park; son Robert of Two Harbors; granddaughter Heather of Casper, Wyo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. Service Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church in Finland. Burial will be in Sawtooth Mt. Cemetery. To sign the online guestbook please go to www.cavallinfunerahome.com.
