Art News: Photography exhibit coming to Vanilla Bean

Two Harbors photographer Gary Leeper is exhibiting images from his new book, “Minnesota North Shore Scenic Drive Photo Tour,” at the Vanilla Bean Café Feb. 14 through March 19.

Leeper’s book provides information on where and how to get to 61 locations along the 150-mile corridor of Highway 61. The e-book will be released this spring and hard copy available in the fall of 2012.

“This reference book came out of my love for the North Shore of Minnesota and Lake Superior. I have crawled around the rocks, hiking trails, and waterways of northern Minnesota for over 30 years and have put together my images of 61 locations that I believe are worth visiting,” said Leeper. “In some cases I included tips on what you can expect once you get there.”

The Vanilla Bean, located on Highway 61 in Two Harbors, is open daily at 7 a.m.
