Northshore Area Partners to host monthly mobile resource centers in Isabella and Finland

Northshore Area Partners will be hosting monthly Mobile Resource Centers in Finland and Isabella throughout 2012.

Thanks to a grant from The Mardag Foundation and funding from Lake County Human Services, these Mobile Resource Centers will allow rural elders and their care givers access to congregate dining, healthcare information, assessment and follow-up, emotional support as well as intergenerational socialization on a regular basis.

The Resource Centers will be held at the Claire Nelson Center in Finland on the first Tuesday of every month and at the Isabella Community Center on the third Tuesday of the month. The Resource Centers will offer health and wellness information beginning at 10 a.m., serve a free hot meal to those 65 and older, and then present entertainment or a speaker following lunch, with everything wrapping up at 2 p.m.

The first events will be held Jan. 3 in Finland and Jan. 17 in Isabella. Please call Northshore Area Partners at 226-3635 for further information and to make reservations. Reservations are required for the meal and transportation. Those under 65 are welcome to attend and are asked to contribute to the cost of their meal.
