CALENDAR SPOTLIGHT: Holiday concert

Arts on Superior will present a holiday concert with Tom Broadbent, Nancy MacGibbon, and Al Anderson at 7 p.m. Dec. 17 United Church in Two Harbors.

Bringing together three of the strongest musicians in the Two Harbors area, the Tom, Nancy, and Al trio features originals by each member as well as imaginative covers. Vocals are backed by an instrumental mix including piano, ukulele, oboe, trombone, and hand drum. The chemistry and amusing on-stage banter between the players guarantees an entertaining evening.

After being one of the biggest draws for two years running at the Fridays in the Park concert series, the trio returns for a holiday concert to benefit Arts on Superior during the organization’s winter fundraising drive. This concert is co-sponsored by the City of Two Harbors. Advance concert tickets for $10 are available online at www.brownpapertickets.com.

Each year Arts on Superior produces Fridays in the Park, a free summer concert series in Thomas Owens Park, and at least one school residency in Two Harbors. This year, they have expanded their concert season into the fall and winter. Proceeds from this concert and fundraising drive will go towards continuing Arts on Superior’s present programs, and increasing their programming to include Fall/Winter/Spring concerts, workshops in various genres, and an art fair for local and regional artists.
