It's Severe Weather Awareness Week in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and there will be statewide tornado drills in both states today.

The National Weather Service will issue a simulated tornado warning for most Minnesota and Wisconsin counties - including all of the Northland - at 1:45 p.m. today. Most cities and counties will activate outdoor warning sirens at that time.

A second tornado drill is scheduled for most Minnesota counties at 6:55 p.m. today; again, most cities and counties will activate tornado sirens at that time. The second drill is targeted for people who are at home after working or being in school during the earlier drill, and for people working during the evening.
