The Agate soccer team continued its losing streak with a home loss Monday against Eveleth-Gilbert.
“It was one of those games,” coach David Lukkonen said. “We were down 2-0 at half but with a few things going our way we easily could have been up 2-0 at half.”
The game ended 4 – 1 with the lone goal coming from Lee Myrdal. “We have a new intensity coming into the final stretch and are looking forward to finishing the season strong,” Lukkonen said.
The soccer team took a fun break from their rigorous schedule for a game against Agate soccer alumnae Saturday. The Agates lost 8-2 to the alumni team. Scoring for the Agates were Eli Hebl and Steve Frikken. “It was a fun game and was played at a high level of intensity by both sides,” Lukkonen said.
The Agates play at Hibbing Thursday and have homes games against Ashland Monday and Grand Rapids Tuesday.
