The Two Harbors volleyball team saw its second win of the season Tuesday in a home match against Carlton.

The Agates won 3-2 with scores of 23-25, 22-25, 25-13, 25-9, and 15-9. Kaley Peterson had 20 kills, three ace blocks, and four ace serves. Maddy Olson had 10 kills, Krista Keranen had four ace blocks, Courtney Kimball had four ace serves and five kills, and Sasha Fjeran had 30 set assists.

“Sasha Fjeran’s 30 set assists are a testament to her smart and efficient setting,” coach Brooke Chaffee said.

The match didn’t get off to a good start, with the Agates losing two very close games. But the team was able to rally around a win in the third game to win the match.

“A big momentum shift came from a run of serves in the third game by Courtney Kimball,” Chaffee said. “Our attack was led by Kaley Peterson and Madison Olson who were both very solid offensively. Also, Kate Morsette played a terrific defensive game.”

The Agates plan to keep the momentum going and continue to improve their offensive attack with a match in Wrenshall Thursday night. They’ll be at home against Proctor Monday.
