Beryl Singleton Bissell, author of the new memoir “A View of the Lake,” will speak at the Two Harbors Public Library at 6:30 p.m. next Thursday.
Bissell won national acclaim with her first memoir, “Scent of God.” In her new book she has collected a set of essays that chronicle her life and life changes as she came to live on Lake Superior’s North Shore. Each chapter captures the nature of the North Shore and the ways in which everything and everyone is shaped by the Big Lake. Her insights will be of interest to those who have also experienced a life transplant to this area and those who have always lived near Lake Superior. The evening will include readings and discussion of how she came to write the book, followed by book signing. This program is sponsored by the Two Harbors Friends of the Library.
