Registration for Duluth running race fills up

Registration for the 2012 Fitger’s 5K Run & Walk closed after the field’s 1,800-racer limit was reached. The 3.1-mile race is scheduled for April 21.

Registration for one upcoming Duluth running race has closed, while entries are still being accepted for a second.

Registration for the 2012 Fitger’s 5K Run & Walk closed after the field’s 1,800-racer limit was reached. The 3.1-mile race is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 21. The race begins on East Superior Street in front of Fitger’s and travels through downtown Duluth and Canal Park before finishing back at Fitger’s. The awards ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m.

Registered participants will be mailed confirmation postcards and can pick up race packets at Fitger’s from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 20 or from 7-8:30 a.m. on race day.

Meanwhile, registration for the 19th annual William A. Irvin 5K has reached 1,100 participants. The race entry process will remain open until the 1,900-runner limit is reached.

To register for the June 15 race, runners should log onto grandmasmarathon.com. The entry fee is $30.
