The Two Harbors High School is inviting the community to help celebrate the start to another school year with an open house and community fair 5:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 30 at the school. Parents, students, and community members are invited to learn about how to get involved during the school year. Classes begin Sept. 6.
Some of the information at the open house includes:
-Opportunities and activities available for students in school and the community.
-Sign ups for the Parent Portal to take care of school paperwork.
-Paying student athletic fees, parking fees, classroom fees, and put money in lunch accounts.
-Learning about the Agate Ironman weight training program.
-Enjoying a hot dog roast.
-Sixth-grade orientation and a parent meeting on the Wolf Ridge trip begins at 4:30 p.m.
-Free admission to the Eveleth-Gilbert volleyball game will be offered to visitors. The junior varsity team plays at 5:45 p.m. and the varsity squad at 7 p.m.
Principal Brett Archer says it’s important for the community and school to get to know each other. The open house extends an invitation to people who might not otherwise visit the school.
“The school and community are really partners,” Archer said. “This seems like a good chance to work together to showcase what is out there for kids to be involved in.”
