Agates and tarballs: Aug. 5
Have an Agate or a Tarball? Send it by email to chronicle@lcnewschronicle.com or drop it off at our downtown office.
Bucolic bridge
Another Agate to the Knife River Garden Club members for their efforts in beautifying the bridge over the Knife River. The club made flower boxes for the railings and the flowers in them look great, one enthusiastic resident told us.
Addresses wanted
Residents of the Ecumen Scenic Shores home and the Correspondence Club want to give Agates to those in the military by sending greeting cards. To have the group send a card to a service member that you know, offer an address to Joann Payment at 834-3110.
Trashy Two Harbors
A Tarball to weekend upkeep in Two Harbors. Several readers have complained about trash bins at public places filling up and spilling over into areas like the parking lot in front of the Edna G on Agate Bay. While they know most city workers don’t work weekends, they find it frustrating that the trash is what the peak of visitors to the city see each weekend. The seagulls don’t help as they spread the trash even farther from the bins. “Maybe a gull-proof top,” one reader suggests.
