Hwy 61 reopened after rain causes damage
Highway 61 between Lake County Road 3 and Lake County Road 4 is reopened, after last week's heavy rains washed away the temporary gravel road.By: Lake County News-Chronicle, Lake County News Chronicle
Highway 61 between Lake County Road 3, just north of Two Harbors, and Lake County Road 4 in Beaver Bay, was repaired and fully reopened to traffic Thursday after heavy rain Wednesday flooded and washed away the temporary two miles of gravel road made there while construction on the highway continues near Split Rock Lighthouse State Park.
County Road 3 got a detour workout and itself was heavily pitted after so much traffic. It has since been smoothed as well.
