Taylor Guzzo scored the game-winning goal at 3:51 in the third period as the Mariners advanced in the Section 7A playoffs with a semifinal win at Cloquet Area Recreation Center.
Anna Carman opened the scoring for Silver Bay Area at 15:29 in the first before Erin Scovill knotted it up 1-1 at 2:32 in the second for Hibbing-Chisholm (13-13-1), which got 28 saves from Dory Johnson.
The Mariners (18-9) advance to play top-seeded Chisago Lakes (19-7-1) at 7 p.m. Friday in Cloquet for the championship.
