Area fund giving
The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation Board of Trustees approved at the April meeting grants totaling more than $75,000 for programs across the region, including several for Lake County.
The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation Board of Trustees approved at the April meeting grants totaling more than $75,000 for programs across the region, including several for Lake County:
- Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency, $3,000 for Lake County Community Connect.
- City of Silver Bay, $2,000 for Prairie Fire Theatre Production.
- Lake Superior School District, $8,000 for school readiness program.
- Just Kids Dental Health, $1,400 for Silver Bay schools dental clinics.
- North Shore Horizons, $3,000 for Silver Bay transitional housing.
- Northern Lake County Arts Board, Silver Bay, $1,500 for masterpiece art program.
- Silver Bay Parent Teacher Student Organization, $5,000 for elementary after-school program.
The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation promotes private giving for the public good. The Community Foundation is a permanent community endowment, built by gifts from hundreds of individuals and organizations.
Regional affiliates of the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation include the Two Harbors Area Fund (created in 1998), the Apostle Islands Area Community Fund (created in 2000), the Cook County Community Fund (created in 2003), the Hermantown Community Fund (created in 2005), and the Eveleth Area Community Foundation (created in 2008).
