Marie Carlson

Marie Carlson, 66, of Two Harbors, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.

She was born Feb. 20, 1945, to Eugene and Norma (Heleen) Hill in Duluth. Marie worked at various jobs through the years, the last three employers being: The Lake County Humane Society, Irresistible Ink, and the Earthwood Inn.

Marie enjoyed traveling, vacations, family camping adventures, and Nascar racing. She loved animals, especially horses and her beloved Shadow; country western music, classic “Old Time” rock ’n’ roll, and Elvis.

Above all, Marie adored and cherished her family and friends.Marie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James “Unga” Carlson; daughter, Brenda Hull; and granddaughter, TaJ’anna Cahoon; and her horse Shadow.

Marie is survived by her son, Lauri “Larry” (Kathy) Carlson of Two Harbors; daughters, Julaine Greenwade of Duluth, Ann (Mike) Welsh of Duluth, and Sandi (Ron Ryan) Carlson of Two Harbors; sister, Arlene (Roy) Lampela of Two Harbors; son-in-law, Tony Hull; dear friend, Carol Slowikowski of Rhinlander; and many grand- and great-grand-children.

Visitation will begin at noon Monday before a 1 p.m. memorial service at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors.
