Shirley Beck has been in St. Luke’s hospital for several days and has now transferred to Lake View Memorial Hospital in Two Harbors.

Shirley Beck has been in St. Luke’s hospital for several days and has now transferred to Lake View Memorial Hospital in Two Harbors. Get well wishes go out to Shirley.

Reports are the first community potluck and game night at the Clair Nelson Center Friday evening was a great success with about 50 people attending. Plans are to do it again about once per month.

Ruth Himes, Judy and Roger Martell, and Sean Conway attended the Al Dumancus brunch in Duluth Sunday. It was put on by the Arrowhead Professional Chef’s Association and the American Culinary Federation. The proceeds benefitted the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank. They reported a good turnout and excellent food.

Ruth Himes reports that her son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Toshiko, are doing fine after the terrible earthquake in Japan. They live in Yokosuka and had been at work when the quake hit and reported it was the worst one he has ever felt. There was no major damage to their home, and Toshiko’s family is fine as they live farther south. Eugene and Toshiko would like to thank everyone for their concerns and emails.
