Pete Lindbeck of Knife River, featured in the News-Chronicle last month as one of 12 finalists for the “Are You Carhartt Tough” online essay contest, did not finish in the top two prize-winning places. The winner was from Virginia and runner-up was from Wisconsin.

Laura Jackson (above) of Just Kids Dental recently accepted a $750 check from the Pamida Foundation and Tim Lekatz (above)from the Two Harbors Pamida store for the school-based preventative dental health care clinics in Lake County. Just Kids Dental is a nonprofit organization that provides care to children at schools in Silver Bay and Two Harbors who have limited or no access to dental care.
