I have lived here all my life and must say that I seldom go to city hall, as I have never had a positive experience there. If I could find a councilor, they don’t want to discuss issues and tell me to talk to (City Administrator) Lee Klein. When I have discussed issues with Klein, I have only gotten an immediate “no” to any request.
I have never dealt with a more negative person then Lee Klein. It is no wonder this community cannot grow when consistently treated to that attitude.
I no longer have any desire to talk with him about any issues. He is not elected, as I would never vote for him, and does not even live in this community, which speaks volumes for his dedication to Two Harbors.
My most recent conversation with him was about the proposed extension of County Road 26 south of Highway 61. His attitude was the same as always – mostly arrogant – like I had no business asking, as it did not fit with his personal plans.
I am hereby making a formal request to the city council to forward to me a status report of this project, as it seems that it has all but slipped between the cracks, never to be heard of again. I believe this proposal was a good one, possibly entirely funded, or nearly so, with little expense to the city.
If this project is just thrown away, it will be taken as a sign of how closely this community is willing to work with others to create and keep jobs and services here.
I would also suggest that councilors who do not share their email addresses be required to use the most state of the art, and popular, communication available today.
Also, deal with the Klein problem. He is one of the reasons Two Harbors is one of the most stagnant communities on the entire North Shore.
