Janice M. Olsen, 75, of Two Harbors, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.

Janice M. Olsen, 75, of Two Harbors, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.

She was born on March 2, 1936, to Helge and Svea (Sundstrom) Jackson in Duluth.

Jan grew up in French River and attended schools in Clover Valley.

On Sept. 11, 1954, she married Keith Olsen. Jan loved music, singing, and playing the piano, flower gardening, birds, animals, camping, traveling, crafts, shopping, and playing cards. She was known for giving cards to everyone on any and all occasions and her 3 p.m. coffee time.

Jan was a lifelong mem- ber of French River Lutheran Church and its choir, church women’s group, and homemaker’s club.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Ronald, Phillip, Martin, Hilding, and Phyllis.

Jan is survived by her husband of 56 years Keith; sons Kenneth and Daryl of Two Harbors; daughter Kathleen (Bruce) Larson of Minnetonka; and son Kevin (Chris Mahai) of Hermantown; siblings Gerald (Jeanette), Robert (Barbara), Leslie (Carol), and David (Laurie); sisters-in-law Delores, Pat, and Avis; brother-in-law Tom; uncles Clifford (Lillian) Sundstrom and Carl (Evelyn) Jackson; and aunt Helen Krenz.

Services were held Monday at French River Lutheran Church.

Burial will occur at a later date at Lake View Palmers Cemetery.
