Betty Vold

Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Vold, 96, of Two Harbors died Dec. 29 at the Sunrise Home.

She was born June 25, 1914, to Peter John and Anna (Yernberg) Olson in Two Harbors, where she was a lifelong resident, graduating from high school in 1932.

She married Daniel Vold Dec. 18, 1940, and worked as a seamstress from her home for more than 60 years.

Betty enjoyed time at the family cabin on Lax Lake and was an avid walker, walking daily until this winter. She was a longtime member of the Women of the Moose.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel; a grandson, Timothy; and brothers and sister, Iver, Ralph, Claus, Karl, and Harry Olson, and Kathryn Hedin.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Gary) Stowe of Livingston, Mont.; sons, Myron (Carol) of Two Harbors and Roderick (Mary) of Blaine; grandchildren, Miriah (Ryan) Malone, Desiree Stowe, Tom (Danielle) Vold, Daniel Vold, Eric (Jessica) Vold, Charlene Vold, and Pamela (Will) Crain; and nine great-grandchildren.
