A group of 16 quilters and crafters from Finland, Silver Bay, and Two Harbors area motored to the Silver Rapids Lodge at Winton for a retreat recently. The group meets at Zion Church each Tuesday throughout the year. The “Tuesday Talents” started meeting 10 years ago and all are welcome to join the fun. It varies in age from 30-something to 80-something. They plan for two 3-4 day retreats each year.
They worked on a project for a cancer charity called ConKerr Cancer, A Case for Smiles. Each participant made a brightly colored pillowcase for a young child. These will be given to the Ely Hospital for children in oncology units of hospitals.
St. Mary’s Hospital (Essentia Health) in Duluth is trying to get the program going.

Ric and Diane Lindberg motored to Waconia for a few days to celebrate an early Thanksgiving with daughter and son-in-law Julie and Josh Arnold.

Paul Hartshorn and Judy Martell from Crystal Bay Township attended the Minnesota Association of Townships Annual meeting Thursday through Saturday in Duluth.
