Donald Olson

Donald H. “Ole” Olson, loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and uncle, age 80, of Oakdale, has died.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold C. and Edna Olson.

Don will be deeply missed by his wife of 49 years, Sharon; daughters, Kari, Susie, and Jane (Keith) Bohler; grandchildren, Morgan and Sophia; sisters, Aileen (Warren) Johnson, Mary Gray, Linda (Robert) Albert and Chris (Larry) Hebert; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Don was born and raised in Two Harbors and he went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota with a Masters in structural engineering. During his career he was an award-winning bridge designer and spent many years developing a sustainable concrete building system.

He most recently worked for 17 years for the City of Minneapolis as a plan inspector.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to HealthEast Hospice.

Memorial service begins at 11 a.m. Saturday with a gathering of family and friends at 10 a.m. at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home, 2195 Woodlane Drive in Woodbury, (651) 738-9615.
