Letter to the editor: She’ll work hard for us
Officers of the court, whether a judge, prosecutor, or defense attorney, are supposed to bring more to the job more than their place of birth.
Officers of the court, whether a judge, prosecutor, or defense attorney, are supposed to bring more to the job more than their place of birth. The law makes no distinction between where a victim or offender was born. The qualifications needed in the judicial system that are most important are experience, knowledge, wisdom, and compassion. What is needed is a just and fair outcome for everyone.
I have had the privilege of knowing, observing and working with Laura Auron, the current Lake County Assistant County Attorney. Laura has lived and worked in urban and rural communities in her career. She has consistently demonstrated her extensive knowledge of the law, her considerable legal experience, and her wisdom in seeking justice for all. Her compassion has been evident in her dedication to providing justice tempered with mercy.
Laura is not afraid to stand firm to maintain the integrity of and respect for the judicial system. She is well respected in the legal community and will work to keep respect for the court.
Laura Auron is the best candidate.
She will bring a freshness, openness, and fairness to the residents of Lake County. She is a tireless and dedicated advocate for all of us.
