Andrew Carlson enjoyed a weekend in the area doing some camping and hiking and visiting with friends. Andrew is a former pastor at Zion Lutheran Church and is now attending Law School in the Twin Cities area.

Jim and Marlene Voita of Afton spent some time here at their cabin and visited with Bob and Linda Nikolai.

There will be a Women’s Drummers of all Native Nations gathering through Sunday. This is held at the Fond Du Lac Community College in Cloquet. Zion Lutheran Church and Sychar Lutheran Church have donated quilts to the event. Gayle Nikolai of Cloquet is involved in a Women’s Drum Group in Cloquet and has helped in preparing for the gathering that began Wednesday.

This weekend is the first weekend of a spooktacular event at the West Branch. The adult event takes place 7-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and again next weekend. Free-will donations to the Lake County Humane Society Society will be accepted. A list of needed items is available at the West Branch.
