Hockey: Pavelich No. 56 on Hockey Hub list

Eveleth native and former Minnesota Duluth center Mark Pavelich has been ranked No. 56 on Minnesota Hockey Hub’s Top 100 list of state high school players.

Eveleth native and former Minnesota Duluth center Mark Pavelich has been ranked No. 56 on Minnesota Hockey Hub’s Top 100 list of state high school players.

Pavelich, 53, helped Eveleth High School to Section 7 title games in 1975 and 1976. At UMD, from 1976-79, he had 57 goals and 85 assists for 142 points in 110 games, and was an All-American in 1979. He was a star member of the 1980 U.S. Olympic gold medal team and had a stellar NHL career with 329 points in 355 games, mostly with the New York Rangers, and had one five-goal game. He lives as a land developer near Lutsen.
