The Minnesota Wild will practice at Duluth’s Amsoil Arena on Monday and Tuesday.

The practices, scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m., are closed to the public.

"We would have loved for a public event and this is the first step in making that happen in the near future," Jeff Stark, Technology and Hockey Operations Director for the DECC, said.

The NHL team begins its regular season Oct. 8 at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

"This visit will hopefully lead to a preseason NHL game coming to Duluth next year," Stark said. "We'd like the fans from northern Minnesota to be able to experience a Wild game and show our team they have a second home sheet of ice right here in Duluth."
