Worthy Grand Matron Donna Hadley, Ruth Roberts, her daughter Betty, and Worthy Matron Alene Aho were part of a ceremony Aug. 26 honoring Ruth for 75 years of membership in the Emera Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star during an area conference in Two Harbors.

The North Shore Steel won the Duluth Amateur Soccer League Division II championship 4-2 over Port City Aug. 17. The team is made up of mostly Two Harbors players. Worthy Grand Matron Donna Hadley, Ruth Roberts, her daughter Betty, and Worthy Matron Alene Aho were part of a ceremony Aug. 26 honoring Ruth for 75 years of membership in the Emera Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star during an area conference in Two Harbors.

Ruth joined the Chapter in 1935 and has been a faithful member over the years. She was presented with a certificate, pin, and bouquet of flowers. The 60-plus members present gave Ruth a standing ovation in recognition of her long years of service.

Brianna Soderstrom, a graduate of Two Harbors High School, completed the summer session at the American College of Norway in Moss, Norway. She is a student at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. Brianna is the daughter of Brian Soderstrom and Connie and Carey Johnson of Two Harbors.
